ABOUT US

Debbye Roman House - Owner & Founder

Debbye’s passion for fitness started in 2013, when she moved from Mexico and realized she was not a fan of running outdoors in the winter months- this is when she started to lift weights at her local gym. After that, she knew she had to make this her career. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality and Management at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara.

She believes fitness is a holistic adventure, and that aligning your body, mind, and spirit will allow you to accomplish things you never thought possible. She enjoys teaching her clients how to be aware of their bodies, and strengths, and believes that the uniqueness of each of us as individuals is what makes us #Thrive together.

Debbye also  believes in the power of a marvelous customer service experience, something she learned during the time she worked in the food and beverage, and hospitality industry. She strives to not only give you a great personal training session, but to make it the best part of your day.

Fun Fact: Debbye worked at Walt Disney World, at the EPCOT Park. She also has two dogs Rocky & Rambo, and a cat, Pumpkin.

Gaby Ganss - Trainer

Hello! I'm Gaby Ganss, a dedicated personal trainer certified by NASM, a functional strength coach certified by ACE, and a specialist in Pre & Post Natal fitness. My passion lies in guiding others towards their fitness goals, ensuring each session is not only effective but also enjoyable.

My approach to training emphasizes strength and endurance, with a particular fondness for integrating kettlebells into workouts for their versatility and effectiveness.

When I'm not in the gym, I cherish moments spent with my family, boyfriend and friends. I’m also an avid runner and love to participate in 5ks and half marathons, where I’m constantly striving to push my limits.

Fun Facts: Sports are a big part of my life. They fuel my competitive spirit with soccer and hockey holding a special place in my heart. At home, I share my space with a special companion—an adventurous pet turtle with three legs who embodies resilience, and curiosity, reminding me daily of perseverance and adaptability.

Bekkie Roman - Trainer

I’ve been coaching since 2017, working with every possible population of clients to help them feel strong, confident, and capable. I’m also a certified yoga teacher (since 2019) and Concept2 Rowing Coach (since 2022), and I love mixing things up to keep fitness fun and approachable.I wasn’t active growing up—started running at 21, lifting at 24—and now I’ve done two marathons, a few sprint triathlons, and more 10Ks and half marathons than I can count. My favorite side projects have been with Girls on the Run and The Rockford Special Olympians—helping people discover what they can do through movement and celebrating their achievements is what keeps me going.I’m known for being energetic, positive, and especially welcoming to anyone new to the gym.

If you’re nervous or unsure, I’ll meet you where you are and help you feel at home because I firmly believe the gym is for anyone and everyone who is willing to put in the work.Outside of work, I’m usually reading way too many books, baking with my boyfriend, working on a new embroidery project, or goofing off with my dog Beau.

Lily moved to St. Louis in 2019 to attend Lindenwood University, where she received a degree in Exercise Science and Recreational Therapy. Post graduation, she worked in both clinical and hospital based Physical Therapy settings, learning from and assisting the therapists there. This is how she developed a love for training, by using client’s passions and motivations to achieve their personal health goals. Lily has a background in gymnastics coaching and loves to incorporate balance and mobility into her workouts.

Fun Fact: She loves being outdoors in her free time- hiking and kayaking- as well as discovering new coffee shops in the surrounding areas.

Jay Gail - Trainer

Jay developed an early passion for training following a positive baseball rehab experience in his youth. Growing up, he led an active lifestyle participating a wide variety of sports, including a stint of competitive powerlifting in college! Working in a physical therapy setting confirmed his interest in helping others pursuing health and fitness. As a trainer, Jay prides himself on being honest and compassionate. He is a certified personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE).

Outside of the gym, Jay enjoys cooking, playing disc golf, and cheering on Chicago Sports teams (other than the Cubs).

Yaztin Chaidez - Trainer

My name is Yaztin Chaidez and I’m a current Exercise Science student at Maryville University. I graduated with my Associate’s in Business in December of 2024 but fitness was always my true passion so I followed my heart and switched paths. I grew up playing sports and was a college soccer athlete and a soccer coach. I’ve also played volleyball, cross country, and track, but soccer will always have my heart. Being an athlete shaped my discipline, my mindset, and my love for pushing past limits.

Outside of the gym, I love coffee runs, shopping, creating content on social media, and being a full time pet mom to two cats and my Doberman.

Now I’m focused on continuing to grow, learning as much as I can, and helping others through movement and motivation. I’m excited and ready to take on new challenges and I’m so thankful to be starting this next chapter with Thrive.
